Sims Manufacturing

Sims Manufacturing includes the secondary aluminium, plastics, and tyre recycling operations of Sims Metal Management. Located principally in Australia, the division provides a number of innovative recycling solutions, including the recovery of aluminium and salt from salt slag, a by-product of primary aluminium production, and the recycling of a range of plastic and tyres.

The commodities trading arm distributes a wide array of semi-finished raw material products, through the Sims Metal Management network, to a range of industries. These products include antimony ingot, arsenic, specification secondary copper and brass foundry ingot, ferro-alloys, lead ingot, primary aluminium ingot, silicon metal, tin and zinc ingot. Other products are available on request, with distribution facilities in most States.

The division also includes Sims Metal Management’s 50% interest in Australian Refined Alloys (ARA), Australia's only secondary lead manufacturer, a joint venture with Nyrstar.
